Or generation is compressed in a small cyber village where exchanging of words isn’t much of a hassle compared to the efforts exerted by our folks from the old times.
Computers and laptops are of the regular commodity of today. From schools, to offices t homes, these reliable pieces became a vital part of human’s breathing life. Statistically, an average human spends around seven hours with their screens every day. This estimate is either because of typing or watching or combination of both.
Does your work requires you to type and type for hours? Ever felt the numbness or pain in your fingers with the exception of the little finger? These can be early signs of carpal tunnel syndrome.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is caused by the pressure being put to the median nerve. Median nerve’s main function is to supply feeling and some movement to the part of the hand. This, along with other tendons pass through the narrow space called carpal tunnel starting from the forearm to the hand. When the median nerve in the wrist is compressed due to pressure, it becomes swollen that causes numbness, pain or tingling sensation.
According to studies, aside from other medical conditions like hypothyroidism and, arthritis and diabetes, repetitive movement of the hands can trigger CTS.
Prevent CTS by doing these exercises in between tasks that requires your hands the most:
The Prayer
Put your palms together in front of your chest and below your chin. Slowly put your hands, still facing each other down to waistline until a stretch on the forearm is felt.
Make sure to keep your hands close to your stomach as your hands go down.

• Put your hands together in prayer position
• Spread fingers apart as far you can, then “steeple” the fingers by separating palms of hands, but keeping fingers together.

The Stretch
Stretch your arms forward with elbows maintained straight then extend the fingers facing the floor.
Use the other hand to apply a little pressure while the palm is faced down the floor and stretch the fingers and wrist the farthest you can go.
Practice these stretching exercises in 3 to 5 times per routine.
