Our eyes are small but mighty. These are one of the most precious parts in our body, without it we cannot see colors and the wonders of the world that God created. That is why taking care of it is one of the most important things we should know and do. And those people who are wearing contact lenses should have an extra care with their eyes.

Contact Lenses are medical device and one of the safest forms of vision corrections that’s why many people use it. However some contact lens wearers could be damaging their eyes by not using proper hygiene in taking care of their contact lenses, and the consequences can be dangerous that can lead to eye infection or worst to blindness.

Here are some of the Do’s and Don’ts on how to proper care of contact lenses:

• Before handling the contact lenses always make sure you’ve washed your hands with soap and water.

• Contact Lenses should not be rinsed with tap or sterile water.

• Remove contact lenses before going swimming or in a hot tub.

• Make sure to follow the recommended schedule of your prescribed doctor on the contact lens replacement.

• Rubbing and rinsing it regularly is the one of most effective method in cleaning contact lenses. Rub the contact lenses with your fingers, and then rinse it thoroughly, and soaked it with the solution overnight.

• Contact lenses case should be always clean, and replace at least every three months because it can be a source infection and contamination.

• Do not use damaged or cracked contact lenses.

• See your eye specialist regularly for contact lens and eye checkup.

Clean and safe handling of contact lenses is extremely important to contact lenses wearers. It is a great way to protect not just their sight but also their precious eyes.
