Work and other life tasks can be really tiring at times and people has different ways of dealing with it. Some resort to caffeine or sweets to boost what’s left of the energy and alertness. According to studies, getting enough sleep is equal to eight hours spent of dozing off. However, most adults are not getting the right amount of sleep mainly because of the demanding lifestyle the society now has. Not all has the luxury of time to get down and have a good long sleep. Since time becomes a luxury nowadays, especially for the working class, an alternative can be used to alleviate the risks of sleep deprivation – meet slumber’s little sibling in the form of a nap.
Feeling groggy and lack of energy calls for short sleep. Doing this is more effective that sipping a cup of coffee because doing so might decrease the memory, no we don’t need that. Power nap is a session that can last for up to 30 minutes in a random time of the day.
Taking emergency nap helps you regain focus and strength to engage with the task at hand. It’s like a mini vacation that gives instant rejuvenation to your exhausted body, resulting to good mood.
Studies show that getting nap helps expand the working memory that’s used in multitasking. This means improved productivity in performing complex tasks especially needed in high-pressure environments.
Cut the slur of laziness being associated with nap time. Next time, do not feel guilty of taking your fair share of nap more importantly, if your body is asking for it. Remember that the human body is intelligently designed to send indications and signals when it’s in need of something.
