Nail Speaks: What Your Nails Try To Tell About Your Health

Natural Nails

Nails, just like our eyes, can speak volumes about the person who owns it. This is a unique part of the body that can be changed either by color, length and/or cut.
While people, especially women, can have the luxury of decorating these dandy darlings, we cannot discount the fact that this part of the human body has a way of translating someone’s health condition by its mere appearance.
Yellow Nails
This is kind of tricky because it can denote number of things. More commonly, it can be caused by a dark nail polish or smoking.
However, if the discoloration is accompanied by thickened texture with a pang of pain, the probability may be due to fungal infection.
Blue Nails
Other than the cold weather, this can suggest that the circulation in your hands and feet are not as good.
This is an indication that nails are not receiving the right amount of oxygen they need. More serious conditions suggest lung or heart disease.
Dark Lines
Dark vertical or horizontal line can be an indication of melanoma. Observe if the dark streak is changing. Does it grow bigger?
Though can only be an after effect of the dark polish you recently applied, if the change is significant, seek professional help to determine underlying problems if there is such,
Thinning
If the thin peeling is concave, this can hint iron-deficiency anemia.
Brittle
This might concern hyperthyroidism. One of the most common causes of brittle and breaking nails is low thyroid.
Other symptoms of hyperthyroidism include weakness, fatigue, dry skin, brittle nails, depression, constipation, memory trouble, and irregular periods.
White Lines
White lines exhibit lack of protein due to poor diet. The other serious underlying reason might be liver or kidney disease.
Thought these nail symptoms are not one hundred percent indication of a more serious illness, it is still ideal to undergo medical consultation for proper diagnosis.
