Cooking a brownie takes a lot of time of baking. But what if, there’s no available oven or even microwave oven for baking a brownie? Well, a skillet can save sweet cravings.
Katie Quinn, a food enthusiast / video journalist shared a simple way to cook brownies using a skillet. She shared a video about cooking brownies without baking. The ingredients that she used were 1 stick of unsalted butter, half a bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips/chunks (around 6 ounces, she set aside some semi-sweet chocolate chips), half a bar of roughly chopped unsweetened chocolate (around 3 ounces), 2 eggs, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt and 2 teaspoons instant coffee granules.
In a bowl, stir the eggs, coffee, vanilla and sugar. Then in a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder and salt.
Quinn suggested very seasoned cast-iron skillet to use for cooking a brownie. Put the skillet on medium high heat on the stovetop. Put the butter, the chocolate chips, and unsweetened chocolate, and melt them together. Stir until it’s all melted and well combined. Lower the heat, then add the liquid mixture and stir. Add the flour mixture and stir again. Once it is well combined, add the reserve handful of chocolate chips and stir.
Cover the skillet and cook for 5-8 minutes. Make sure the heat is at the lower level. Be watchful on cooking the brownie in order to avoid overcooking it. Once it is cooked, take the brownie from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes. Optional: Add or partner it with ice cream, caramel syrup, and whipped cream. You can add nuts or fruits or even add more coffee and cinnamon to add more flavors.
