“Time is gold.”
How many times have you written it in your slum book during your elementary days? How many times have you recited it just because you don’t want to think anymore when your teacher asks what your motto is? How many times have you heard, read, or written about the preciousness of time? A lot that that its familiarity wears off its value.
1 second, 30 seconds, a minute, an hour, how much does it cost? Now please spare me just a portion and let’s bid what’s the price tag of a second.
Many things can happen in a second. In a second, you may have been signing a business venture that can make or break your career. In a second you may have been making a big decision in your life. In a second you may have been shading the right answer in your board exam. In a second, you may have chosen to eat that carb-filled fries. In a second you may have been just there – sitting there – with no plans in mind. So what’s the point?
Every second has the possibility to lay waste all your overtimes at work. Every second has the possibility of you making the wrong choice. Every second has the possibility for you to lapse. Every second has the possibility of making a world of a difference – yeah, no pressure.
So here’s the moral.
Manage your time well. Do we have to elaborate? You already know about this. Very anticlimactic, cliché, etcetera, but the key to yielding massive results.
Spend time well more than your money. Why? Simply because you can earn money back, but turning back time only happens in movie; unless, someone invented a time machine. Now that will be a basic commodity.
Last, let’s compare it to its metaphor. Gold is a rare, durable metal of earth that came from an asteroid when it hit our planet thousands of years ago. Replenishing gold would be asking for another asteroid to hit our planet – with us in it this time. It’s a non-profitable venture. Base from this, we will immediately deduct that time is priceless. But gold has a price right?
All things in earth have a price even the rarest metal or the new Apple Watch. We all set those prices. It is also the same for time. We set how much ours will cost. So, the old maxim of time? It may not be gold for you. It may just be a few dollars now, but who knows? When you truly learn its value, it may even turn platinum for you.
