Two other studies out of India, where chilies are widely consumed, showed that they may reduce leukemia risk by 60% and gallbladder risk by 55%. – The Eden Prescription.

Scientifically known as Capsicum annuum L. Commonly known as chilli pepper, can give high levels of vitamins and minerals.

Each chilli pod has Vitamin C, Vitamin B-6, Vitamin A, Iron, Copper, potassium content and no cholesterol. Thus, this plant is a good source of antioxidant that help protect the body from effects of free radicals.

Traditionally, chilies offer therapeutic actions such as pain reliever, expectorant, aphrodisiac and many others.

While it offers a lot of health benefits, there are also cautions and warnings that we have to consider when eating chilies or using it for whatever purpose.

One should avoid the substance in contact with eyes, open wounds and mucous membranes. The hotness of the Capsaicin substance may irritate the affected area.

Also, taking large amount of chili can also be commonly associated with stomach ulcers and other gastrointestinal problems.
