One of the most abused parts of the human body is your pair of foot. Without them, you won’t be able to stand up and walk. You’re technically immobile. And yet, since we have our trusted feet, we go about using it in almost all of the movement that we would carry-out during the day.
We neglect the importance of having them, even to the point that we weren’t paying much attention to it that our feet had given up in keeping themselves at their best.
You got off from work, removed your shoes at the doorstep, turned the television on and slumped on the nearest seat available.
At first you thought that the stink is imaginary but then minutes passed and it became stronger, and much to your surprise, the foul stench is originating from you.
You then reached to smell your armpits, nothing. Your breath? Freshest ever. And then you looked down and saw your feet and you then knew the answer.
Foot odor is caused by focal hyperhidrosis or foot sweat. While the sweat is technically odorless, it creates a breeding ground for other types of bacteria to grow and then produce bad-smelling substances.
Generally, it is with the shoes and socks that we wear that can the odor are intensified. The type of socks and shoes that we use dictates when more perspiration is to be released as ventilation can be compromised or maximized.
Some ways of combating foot odor are as follows:
Use a baking soda-water solution and soak your sorry feet for about 15-20 minutes every day or as needed. Sprinkling baking soda on our shoes and socks might also help in minimizing foot odor. The chemical composition of baking soda is proven to put sweat on a lesser level and neutralize the pH level which reduces formation of bacteria.
Because of the acidity that the vinegar has, it is also one household remedy that you can try. The rather acidic environment that vinegar creates can trump down bacteria and other types of odor. Soaking on a vinegar-water solution is also highly recommended for about 15 minutes tops. Apple cider vinegar is the better choice for this suggestion.
The tannic acid that can be found on black tea is an effective way of killing germs that might be camping on your toes. Tea properties also include closure of open pores which means sweat will be minimized big time. Boiling two bags of black tea and submerging your stinky feet on it with lukewarm water every day would definitely do the job for you.
Inhibiting the growth of possible bacteria formation, alum powder’s astringent and antiseptic properties is an option to consider. A few drops of lavender oil tied up with water that you can submerged your feet in would also the trick.
While there are hundreds of cures that you can do to eliminate a foul-smelling feet, it is best to avoid having it at the first place. By simply being hygienic, you can dismiss having this kind of issue in the future. Make sure to wear your shoes with clean and pristine socks.
This move not only eliminates the possibility of acquiring the stench but wearing a presentable pair of socks is such an eye candy. Using cotton socks absorb sweat more effectively.
Those made with nylon is unfashionable and uncomfortable at the same time. Religiously swabbing your feet with isoprophyl alcohol would also lessen the risk of having smelly toes.
Powders made fit for feet care are also widely available in the market.
