Manscaping: Yay or Nay?

Manscaping

Manscaping is a choice you have full control to. If you think that your chest hair makes you look more like an alpha male, then who am I to demand you to shave them off? There’s nothing wrong really with bodily hairs – except that, they should be in the right place.

It can actually make you look more masculine; one that is past the prepubescent days. Facial hairs are even currently on trend with Adam Levine and Ryan Gosling, to name a few, changing our views about them.

It is a sign that you are a man capable of many things and not a fumbling boy. But there’s always a catch. As the saying goes, less is more and this also applies to your body hairs.

Before you bare your torso, (or any other parts for that matter) please consider the following.

Chest Hair

Not shaving your chest hair is quite fine, as long as you don’t look like Magnum P.I. It is actually attractive on men and most ladies love running their hands on them. Keep them neatly trimmed.

When you can already wrap the hairs around your finger or see them peeking off your shirt, it is time to run to the salon.

However, if you are a guy who wants a shaved chest, make sure that all of your bodily hair shaved, too, or else you’ll look like a Calvin Klein reject who’s trying too hard. (Familiar with The 40 Year Old Virgin? Then you should learn a thing or two from that.)

Shoulder, Ears, and Back Hairs

One thing. Shave or wax them. Contrary to chest hair, ladies don’t like them – not at all. Back and shoulders should be smooth and without a trace of hair.

It is sure ways to look like you haven’t evolved well, like stuck between an ape and a man. And that’s a definite no. This also applies to hairy ears. No matter how you love them, you need to keep them clean from hairs.

Eyebrows

Always remember that mankind is created with two eyebrows; but due to some genetic matters, some are born with a unibrow. Don’t worry; it can get easily remedied with a pair of tweezers.

Just make sure you pull them to the roots or the hair will break and you’ll have stubble up your nose. And also, make sure they don’t look like they are sculpted. Please, please no. Apart from it does not look attractive, it reeks of many things.

Armpits

Shaving or not shaving your pits is a decision others won’t mind whatever you choose.

On the other hand, not shaving them does not mean you should totally let it grow into an unkempt forest. Good hygiene my friend.

Haircut for Junior and the boys

Trimming the area once in a while is a good idea, as it keeps unpleasant odors away. It also gives the illusion of a bigger tree down there, so to speak.

Just don’t get so obsessed with it, or you’ll be perceived by your lover as someone who’s incredibly narcissistic.

Legs and Arms

The key to make your hairs attractive on these body parts is to make them look natural.

Unless, your profession (athletes, for example) requires you to shave them, then you don’t have the reason to do otherwise.

Patterns

This is for those men whose sense of humor, we don’t quite get. Please don’t shave your bodily hair into patterns.

They are good for a minute or two and still good after that. Unfortunately, it’s only for them. So yeah, don’t be a comedian and just shave or not shave them.
