Waking up in mid-night drenched in your own sweat is uncomfortable & embarrassing. This ‘not funny’ state is something that people experience on a semi regular basis.

In case of women menopause is one of the reasons for night sweat. This phenomenon is commonly known as ‘hot flashes’ and is common for women who are passing through menopause stage.

Bacterial infections like inflammation of the heart valves or within the bones may lead to night sweats. 
Tuberculosis is probably the most common infection associated with the condition.

More frightening fact is night sweats are often the early symptoms of some form of cancers. However, it is not the only symptom of developing a cancer-nothing is there to be worried!

Hypoglycemia could be another reason behind night sweating. In general term, hypoglycemia means low blood sugar. People who are taking anti-diabetes medicines or insulin could develop hypoglycemia that results into excessive night sweating.

Problematic endocrine system is another reason of night sweat. Oftentimes the unhealthy mix of our body hormones like serotonin creates flushing and sweating.

People taking hormone therapy treatment may experience night sweating as it regulates the volume of hormone secretion in our body.

Treatment

Your physician will first identify the underlying reason behind your night sweating. Truly, there is not much specific treatment of this problem and depending upon the nature of night sweats treatment could be different.

Usually, medical treatment is directed towards the underlying causes that are creating night sweating problem. As for example, hormonal imbalance, bacterial infections or cancers that cause night sweats would be treated. Night sweats occurring from the side effects of a medicine may improve when the person changes or discontinues that particular medicine.

There were days when people experiencing this problem would just have to live with it. You don’t need to deal with it reluctantly anymore. In today’s world it is very possible to get some permanent relief. Don’t spoil your peaceful sleep because of this imbalance. Get checked and get healthy.
