The history of soap can be tracked back during the era of Babylonians, Mesopotamians and Egyptians in 2800 BC. Primary ingredients include fats, oils and salts however the usage is intended for cleaning things instead of for bathing.

Today, soaps can be grouped in different categories. Personal soaps, or commonly called daily soaps are those that are designed to feed a particular need. Antibacterial personal soaps are used to combat bacteria residing on the skin.

Moisturizing daily soap is intended to restore and supply additional moisture needed by the skin. Anti-aging on the other hand helps alleviate the signs of aging – this kind is especially catered women who wants to impede the visibility and signs of aging. It is believed that liquid kind of personal soap is milder than of solid form because it has gentler formulation that does not remove skin’s natural moisture.

Medicated soaps are being used to target and cure skin conditions. It is important to seek the advice of a health professional before using medicated soap since most have active ingredients that can worsen the skin problem if not used properly.

Laundry soaps are used on washing clothes and can be found in a powder, bar or gel form. These are lightly formulated soaps that specifically removes dirt, grease and stains on our well-loved clothes.

Kitchen soaps come generally into two forms, cleansers and dish detergents. Dish detergents are made to remove tough grease and solid particles. Cleansers target hard to remove stains and contain mild abrasives.
